Shit's all sorts of different now.

I'm watching "Word Wars" which is a documentary about competitive Scrabble. All of these people are nuts.

I need a vacation from this week. Nothing has gone right, it's just added more stuff to my plate for the next 2 days, people are pissing me off with their vacations at the worst time ever with no apologies and my weekends are booked for the next two weeks. I want to crawl into the pool or a bottle and just zone out. Normally when things get to feeling like this I can blame chemicals, but those are out of the loop now. So this is just life. Fuckit.

For the record: I CANNOT take on backup for 3 jobs at once when my primary job encompasses 2 major projects at a high level going into production NOW, my boss retiring (necessitating me stepping up into his role on some things until the new boss is fully up to speed on a lot of reporting and piddling things) AND MY GODDAMNED OWN LIFE.

And I'm not 100% on some coding changes I had to make on rustyrail stuff, but I don't have time for that.

Feh. I want to take vacation for spite in June. But if shit goes wrong, I'll feel responsible. Goddamned perfectionist.

Ugh, Sara. I hope it eases up soon, and you get some you time in soon.

It will. Not like I have toddlers adjusting to each other or, you know, RIOTS and ARSON, I'm just done with the work drama. So much unnecessary. And some I could have avoided, so some of the anger is at myself.

Been a less than smooth week. And I have days to go.

Because books.

I'm sorry, sara. Maybe the next two days will behave.

It's more than a little weird that I'm less worried about my brother in Afghanistan than I am about Fay in Bangkok.

Crap! Perkins - I got your email and totally spaced it. I've barely been online the past three days. Insent in about 2 seconds.

I know this is not so much true now, but when my brother was overseas during the Serbia thing, I worried about him less. Except when he was off shift. Put him on ammo detail or chasing a hungarian goatherder to a crashed predator, no problem. Give him off time where he sneaks off site into Skopje or one of the NATO bases? FUCK. Boy charmed his way out of court martial.

My SIL's best friend is a copter pilot in Afghanistan. No fun.

And there was less shooting at for my kid, given where he was based.
