It's more than a little weird that I'm less worried about my brother in Afghanistan than I am about Fay in Bangkok.
Crap! Perkins - I got your email and totally spaced it. I've barely been online the past three days. Insent in about 2 seconds.
I know this is not so much true now, but when my brother was overseas during the Serbia thing, I worried about him less. Except when he was off shift. Put him on ammo detail or chasing a hungarian goatherder to a crashed predator, no problem. Give him off time where he sneaks off site into Skopje or one of the NATO bases? FUCK. Boy charmed his way out of court martial.
My SIL's best friend is a copter pilot in Afghanistan. No fun.
And there was less shooting at for my kid, given where he was based.
The start of this week's Criminal minds is cracking me up, gven how many of the actors I follow on twitter.

I just spent three hours skyping my sister and second cousin and cousin's friend. It was a return to the raunch that I said I'd been missing. Poor cousin's friend peeped up every now and again with "how did you do that?" Because when we throw anecdotes around, it sounds random wild. And we barely covered any time at all. Nice to F2F with the sister (she's so proud of me, it's weird she gets to antsy when I brag on her) and also cool to see the cousin--I used to live with her for a while when I just moved to the US. She's now grown with husband and kids, but we interact like when we were teens.
I hope my cousin comes out to visit soon. I'm skeered of the east coast. I want her here. I don't know where to go to get into trouble, but I want some, dammit. Headaches be cursed.
