Natter 66: Get Your Kicks.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I have shopped, groceries and clthes/shoes for me.
I had pastries for lunch. Maybe not the best idea, but I kinda don't care.
I have to be back in the house in the next hour and I do not wanna. I do not want to face him still be obstinate and I don't want hugs and apologies and then him needing attention and reassurance from me.
I've turned half a cabbage, a hand-full of baby heirloom carrots, and a small onion into the beginnings of coleslaw. They're currently being pressed in a colander, losing a bit of moisture, so the dressing doesn't get too watery. Slaw plus whatever protein I can find in the fridge seem like a good meal for a 90F day.
For anyone with not real picky feet. I am really impressed with the comfort brand sandals at payless.
Man, it really needs to rain here.
Food report:
One of the sitters took all my dry baby lima beans, he likes them, I don't.
Uncle g is going to take the jar of plain yellow mustard, neither mac nor I use it.
Anyone recommend any free diet journaling sites? All I know is fitday
I love thedailyplate. It has one of the best databases of foods I have found, including restaurants and lots of ethnic foods and you can add things to the database that aren't already there.
USA is running an "SVU Co-ed marathon." They seem to not understand what the term "co-ed" means. Many of these episodes have been about high schoolers or even younger kids, and at least half have been about boys.
so, nothing really changed at home. mac took a longish nap and is up, but wouldn't talk with uncle g and is trying to negotiate out of having to do his homework before seeing a movie.
I am packing boxes to mail and then will pack boxes to move.
Man, it really needs to rain here.
From your lips to god's ears - it literally just started raining this second! Fingers crossed it cools off a bit.
Anyone know how long raw milk lasts? My neighbor bought a gallon from our CSA farmer and gave half to me. I figure the fact that it's from a cow he milked YESTERDAY has to compensate for the fact that it's not pasteurized, right? (In terms of whether or not we can use it up before it goes sour.)
Also, could someone explain why I have "Epiphany" from Sweeney Todd in my head? I don't think I'm in a particularly violent mood right now, but all my brain wants to sing is
They ALL DESERVE TO DIE! (Tell you why, Mrs Lovett, tell you why!) / Because in all of the whole human race, Mrs Lovett / There are two kinds of men and only two / there's the one staying put in his proper place / and the one with his foot in the other one's face / look at me, Mrs. Lovett, look at you! / Oh THEY ALL DESERVE TO DIE...
and so on.
I have a recipe for MINI-quiches that say to use ungreased pan. The usual reason to bake stuff in ungreased pans is so that lie batter can climb up the sides of the pan and rise. But with MINI-quiches nothing is touching the sides anyway. Any reason not to grease the pan lightly to prevent sticking?
I don't even know Sweeney Todd and I want to sing that song all day and night.
Anyone know if Kat's current address is 633 street name in N. Hollywood?
