My mom and her sister were about 10 months apart. They attended school in the same grade and were called "the twins" (as they also looked quite a lot alike).

My kids were nine days less than a year apart, the second in spite of two concurrennt forms of BC, determined little brat. I never had a period between pregnanies. And we white-knuckled it to the first period after the second birth so they'd install an IUD.
Which, 16 years later caused major problems, but meanwhile, no 16-18 kids. I sympathize with people who have difficulties concieving, I do. But the opposite side of that coin is no picnic, either.

It wasn't the news itself. Just much like a few people around here must feel when MS is getting bashed, I get hurt by my friends excitedly linking to stories about it.
It's funny too (peculiar not haha), because when I speak up, they say, "Oh I'm sorry I didn't know you worked for them." And you know, I get that, but at the same time would it be okay to excitedly link to something about the prospect of a bunch of people losing their jobs if you didn't know one of them? In this economy?

DJ, I never get the urge to corporate schadenfreude -- as petty as it is, there's totally a satisfaction when some individual asshole gets what's coming, but "woo-hoo, GM/MS/BB/B&N is flailing. HAR!!" is just. Dude. Actual people are gonna get fucked by this, no matter how much you like to snark at the corporate entity.
