Buffy. When I saw you stop the world from, you know, ending, I just assumed that was a big week for you. Turns out I suddenly find myself needing to know the plural of 'apocalypse.'

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Timelies!

Hey, since I've been away for a while and Buffy/Angel no longer actually airing changes things a bit, what *is* the difference between Bitches and Natter? I was guessing Natter is lighter-hearted but hearing your take on it would be helpful.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

My kids were nine days less than a year apart, the second in spite of two concurrennt forms of BC, determined little brat. I never had a period between pregnanies. And we white-knuckled it to the first period after the second birth so they'd install an IUD.

Which, 16 years later caused major problems, but meanwhile, no 16-18 kids. I sympathize with people who have difficulties concieving, I do. But the opposite side of that coin is no picnic, either.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Thanks. I don't really need hugs. Everything I've heard so far is that our division makes money so...

It wasn't the news itself. Just much like a few people around here must feel when MS is getting bashed, I get hurt by my friends excitedly linking to stories about it.

It's funny too (peculiar not haha), because when I speak up, they say, "Oh I'm sorry I didn't know you worked for them." And you know, I get that, but at the same time would it be okay to excitedly link to something about the prospect of a bunch of people losing their jobs if you didn't know one of them? In this economy?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Oh, yeah, Bev. My friend Kelly's mom is like that she says "Michael was my condom baby, Kelly was my IUD baby, and Steven was my Pill baby"

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

DJ, I never get the urge to corporate schadenfreude -- as petty as it is, there's totally a satisfaction when some individual asshole gets what's coming, but "woo-hoo, GM/MS/BB/B&N is flailing. HAR!!" is just. Dude. Actual people are gonna get fucked by this, no matter how much you like to snark at the corporate entity.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

"Michael was my condom baby, Kelly was my IUD baby, and Steven was my Pill baby"

One of my mom's friends was like that. She had 5 kids and could name each failed birth control for each child.

Before I had CJ, I really wanted my kids to be close in age. But that ended up being a 6.5 year gap. My cousin has a ten year gap between her two youngest.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Facebook was up for me long enough to read that a friend from high school just got a Trisomy 18 diagnosis with her child but not long enough for me to send a supportive message to them in response.

Fucking Facebook FAIL.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My mother has five siblings. There are five years between each of them, and they althernate boy/girl/boy/girl/boy/girl. By the end of the run, Miss Mary was just doing the birthing, not the raising. Youngest girl thought oldest girl was her mother.

Slowly approaching sanity. Good god, y'all.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I know at least one woman who got pregnant while breastfeeding a new baby.

I'm pretty sure at least one of my older siblings was conceived while my mother was nursing, given the birth dates.

I was the opposite - a menopause baby.

What is that?
