Yeah, but you're an amateur fry cook and I come from a long line of fry cooks that don't live past 25.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

"Michael was my condom baby, Kelly was my IUD baby, and Steven was my Pill baby"

One of my mom's friends was like that. She had 5 kids and could name each failed birth control for each child.

Before I had CJ, I really wanted my kids to be close in age. But that ended up being a 6.5 year gap. My cousin has a ten year gap between her two youngest.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Facebook was up for me long enough to read that a friend from high school just got a Trisomy 18 diagnosis with her child but not long enough for me to send a supportive message to them in response.

Fucking Facebook FAIL.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My mother has five siblings. There are five years between each of them, and they althernate boy/girl/boy/girl/boy/girl. By the end of the run, Miss Mary was just doing the birthing, not the raising. Youngest girl thought oldest girl was her mother.

Slowly approaching sanity. Good god, y'all.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I know at least one woman who got pregnant while breastfeeding a new baby.

I'm pretty sure at least one of my older siblings was conceived while my mother was nursing, given the birth dates.

I was the opposite - a menopause baby.

What is that?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I've been talking about it in Bitches, but I'll share two things over here.

1) Today is Emmett's birthday! He's 14. Matilda's birthday is on Sunday.

2) Matilda got accepted into Grattan Elementary pre-school, after something like two years on the waiting list. She already goes to the UCSF preschool where JZ works, but this is much cheaper. Also it would give her a priority to select that school (a highly rated one) for kindergarten next year. It will be a tough transition for her since she loves her teachers and classmates but there are too many benefits for us to forego this opportunity.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I looked at my vacation balance a few weeks ago, and realized that I clearly needed to take more vacation days. Today is a random vacation day. My body decided it needed to sleep for 11 hours, so that's what I did. Now I'm puttering around the apartment doing cleaning and maintenance.

Art Crawl!!!

Happy Birthday to Emmett! Can't believe he is 14.

And I'm glad that Matilda is getting this opportunity. Sounds like a good one altogether.

I hope you feel better soon, ita.
