There's something about a food that moves all by itself that gives me the heebie-jeebies.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Yes this means I still have arrested development and true blood staring at me.

I was just thinking this as I read your post. Watch it!

Speaking of awesome comedy, Amazon's Deal of the Day is both seasons of Flight of the Conchords and a CD for $27.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Gastric reflux is caused either by volume issues resulting from slow gastric emptying or by reactions to foods.

That makes sense, as does the less food, more often.

What I found interesting was the suggestion to mix your own medication. Then again, I'm assuming Grace and Isaac have completely different needs when it comes to how they take their medications.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Kat, I am outraged on your behalf. The insurance is fucked up beyond belief and I hope you guys can get something worked out that doesn't break you.

I'm watching my favorite episode of ST:TNG. A Perfect Mate with Famke Jannsen. The end kills me every time.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Ugh, Kat, I am so sorry about that. That is utterly ridiculous.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Great and powerful hivemind, please speak to me of portable air conditioning units. A window unit is unpossible here and ... I am beginning to be really willing to buy a portable unit. Anyone have recs for ones to look at and ones to avoid?

It's less than 900 sq feet total and I am totes willing to carve that into either a 300 sq foot or 200 sq ft area. And I don't mind making it a near cave during the heatwaves either. So I'm not asking for it to bring a miracle. Just drop the temp ten or fifteen degrees at the worst of times.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The main thing you need to worry about with a portable unit is having a place to vent. For 900 square feet you could probably get away with a pretty small one.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

But the portable units aren't really as efficient because the venting often is a problem. We have one that we use in the front room when necessary and it runs, but doesn't cool as well as the window units we have in the den, which is a larger space because of venting.

My neighbor gave a me a rec for a relatively safe/enviro-friendly paint stripper (it is paint stripper, after all): "Back to Nature" Multi Strip. She says it eats through a bazillion layers if you leave it on long enough. She also wraps everything in saran wrap so it works longer.
