No cougar. Elk. Deer (usually have some but not now). No Moose. K's dad, who lives in Idaho, is a regular hunter.

brenda, the restaurant stuff looks fab! I don't think I can make a weekday (as I hope to have a job by then), and I'll miss Nicole like hell, but I can probably make it down for the weekend, the 27th and 28th. Unfortunately for me, I'm already committed to being in Orlando with the daughter on the 22nd and 23rd for a job interview for her and she's talking extending the visit over the previous weekend. Doesn't leave me a lot of time to play with you guys!
Heh. I know it`s not the freezer in question, but my freezer currently has bison and mallard duck in it. If you`d caught me before the holiday it would also have had Canada goose and elk but those are both gone now. I expect some mule deer and other venison shortly, though.
I'd love some venison steak but folks around here hold their deer dear.
I also learnt that people eat mountain lions.
Really? I was always told they tasted terrible, "like cat piss" was the description, but now I can't remember who was telling me that or if I should trust that information. It was a long time ago.
How was the goose, Liese? I was also told that Canada goose is not fit for eating, just for upping the fat content of dryer game.
It is possible that I am gullible and know hunters who lie.
I've eaten bear. Bear is tasty.
Here's how urban my life is: I've never eaten game that anyone I knew (or had any connection to) killed, but I've had kangaroo and alligator at restaurants.
Grew up with venison and much smaller game, including rabbit and squirrel. So I guess I'm the opposite of Jesse.
I'm going to be in San Jose next weekend. I'm trying to find a workable yoga studio to take a class at. Ugh. the Bay Area, for its size, does not have enough Anusara.
I'm urban like Jesse--the only red meat I've eaten that someone I knew killed was rabbit, I think. But I've had bison and boar and other Asterixy meats at restaurants.
I have eaten fish caught by people I know, though.
-t, maybe I'm the gullible one. This guy was very gung ho about his home-killed food. But he's been hunting his own dinner since he was ten or so.
