Crap. The director of the program I volunteer for just submitted her resignation. We're under the gun and probably going to lose our funding from the United Way, anyway but damn. It's a really shitty time to get this news.
[link] The guy who went past security last weekend at Newark Airport, causing the terminal to close for about six hours, had just stepped in for a second to kiss his girlfriend goodbye, and then went home. They're saying that he could face up to 30 days in jail, and Lautenberg says that's not enough for someone who caused that much trouble. Really, I'd say the security people caused much more trouble than he did.
I spent most of yesterday in a cleaning frenzy, so today I don't feel like doing much other than reading a book. At some point in the near future, I should put on outside pants and go to Walgreens for a bizarre assortment of items.
Aaaand, pool closed. Damnit. Today is day o'stupid thwart. I guess I'll try giving myself a manicure.

Hil, if he had just taken the opportunity when the TSA agent stepped away, I might agree. However, the agent turned the guy back once. When the agent became distracted and stepped away, the guy dipped under the tape and went back to embrace his girlfriend.
Disobeying direct orders from a TSA agent that results in that much of a problem for all those people--not just in Newark but all the other airports that got screwed as well, deserves some punishment.

Oh, I didn't know that the agent had already told the guy no. That is different. I still don't understand why security spent two and a half hours searching the terminal for him before shutting it down, though, or why they didn't have security cameras that they could track him or his girlfriend with. (Also, this seems like one of the easiest security fixes ever -- turnstiles. I haven't seen that suggested anywhere, though.)
