Oh, at first it was confusing. Just the idea of computers was like — whoa! I'm eleven hundred years old! I had trouble adjusting to the idea of Lutherans.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I spent most of yesterday in a cleaning frenzy, so today I don't feel like doing much other than reading a book. At some point in the near future, I should put on outside pants and go to Walgreens for a bizarre assortment of items.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I did two loads of laundry. Now I need to fold the laundry, which I hate.

Now tagless for your comfort.

The guy who went past security last weekend at Newark Airport, causing the terminal to close for about six hours, had just stepped in for a second to kiss his girlfriend goodbye, and then went home. They're saying that he could face up to 30 days in jail, and Lautenberg says that's not enough for someone who caused that much trouble. Really, I'd say the security people caused much more trouble than he did.

Hil, if he had just taken the opportunity when the TSA agent stepped away, I might agree. However, the agent turned the guy back once. When the agent became distracted and stepped away, the guy dipped under the tape and went back to embrace his girlfriend.

Disobeying direct orders from a TSA agent that results in that much of a problem for all those people--not just in Newark but all the other airports that got screwed as well, deserves some punishment.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh Cash, I am sorry.

And I'm sorry about the thwartage too, sara.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

This.

You might not like the rules or agree with the rules, but you have to follow the rules, dammit.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, that puts a different face on it, Cash.

Oh, I didn't know that the agent had already told the guy no. That is different. I still don't understand why security spent two and a half hours searching the terminal for him before shutting it down, though, or why they didn't have security cameras that they could track him or his girlfriend with. (Also, this seems like one of the easiest security fixes ever -- turnstiles. I haven't seen that suggested anywhere, though.)

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh msbelle, I'm sorry to hear about last night. {[hugs}}

I've been doing what I can to get ready for the start of the semester tomorrow. Of course the one thing I should have done--taken down the tree--haven't done. I know it sounds silly, but I find it a bit depressing to take down the Xmas stuff. But I'll regret it if I keep letting it go.

Our wings are not tired.

It's not silly at all, Burrell! Mine is still up, too.
