sara-- for some reason I was the go to girl for relationship advice in high school even though I had no relationships. One guy called me because he liked one of my friends and actually broke a sink at our Dinner Dance because of it (she went with him, but ignored him all evening in favor of another male friend that everyone liked (who is now married to a man in California). I was always like.... WTF!?!?! Thankfully, that seems to have ended in 1991.

I totally go through food obsessions like that.

Now, I was at a party where a sink was broken, but I'm pretty sure the girl wasn't impressed (since she was, ah, sitting on it at the time. Coitus interruptus defined.)

I've been living off spinach and strawberry salad for months now. I love it still. eta: I always do this with foods. Variety is not my middle name when it comes to meal prep.

He actually broke a sink because he kicked it because he was mad at a girl. Or frustrated. At out lovely dinner location, Peter's Charcoal House. The details are really fuzzy, mostly I remember him calling me the next day and me talking him down. it was very strange.

ETA: I went with a girl to this dance, like I did for prom. Which is sort of odd given the prom situation now. But we just wanted to all go as a group of friends, and some were too young to get in. I wrote an editorial at our paper about how if we were lesbians, it would still be OK. Oh 1991.

It is brrrrr cold. I have turned on the fireplace and am snuggled in a blanket.

Food obsession-wise, I have been on a pistachio kick lately. So nummy.

Yeah, I'm quickly approaching the "I need to cut my hair now now now" stage. Which always hits me right before I go out for the summer fundraising, thus thwarting my attempts to imitate a nice conservative person they want to give money to. Which is fine, because they should know that they're giving money to a crazy haired person who plays instruments and hangs out with punk kids.

But still. And anyway, I think it'll be okay this year because most of the fundraising takes place under the guise of the tour, so I can be expected to have crazy hair as a vocalist, right?

Today's food: pork loin roast, mashed potatoes with cheese, rice, brussels sprouts. It is leftover day of yum.

Sophia, salmon patties like that always remind me of my grandmother. She used to make them for lunch.

My latest food obsession is quinoa salads, esp this one with quinoa, black lentils, arugula, mint, and feta cheese. Mmm.

I have never had these salmon patties! My grandmother made cup-o-soup and peanut butter sandwiches for lunch, so I am coming from food heathens.
