unless writers decide to charging other fans to read online content, I'd say renumeration is just not forthcoming.
But that's been done, or at least tried--does it make it not fic anymore? If you write the story about uncopyrighted work does that make it not fic? Or is it intent or actuality of profit?

I have no opinion on fic beyond I like some of it in certain fandoms by certain writers... and I wouldn't say I'm an avid fic reader.

I think the theory is, they'd have to vote on the final bill that comes out of conference, and without 60 votes, the Republicans will filibuster it to death -- or even just the threat of that will make Dems fold. Because the Democratic party is sofa king LAME.
