unless writers decide to charging other fans to read online content, I'd say renumeration is just not forthcoming.
But that's been done, or at least tried--does it make it not fic anymore? If you write the story about uncopyrighted work does that make it not fic? Or is it intent or actuality of profit?
Well, I heard someone say that Brown's win means HCR is dead. But I thought they passed bills? But maybe they needed another vote to harmonize the differences or something.
Ugh. Did Brown actually win? That's depressing.
I have no opinion on fic beyond I like some of it in certain fandoms by certain writers... and I wouldn't say I'm an avid fic reader.
I have a PD tomorrow and I'm as ever unprepared.
But I thought they passed bills?
Yes.
But maybe they needed another vote to harmonize the differences or something.
Yes. (Probably.) Although there are various trick they could use to get around the Brown issue....

I ... have no answers for that, because I haven't thought about it. Bueller?
I think the theory is, they'd have to vote on the final bill that comes out of conference, and without 60 votes, the Republicans will filibuster it to death -- or even just the threat of that will make Dems fold. Because the Democratic party is sofa king LAME.
If the Dems are that pitiful, I'll, I don't know what 'll do, but I'll be very angry.
Also, damn technology. Sophia's link led me to Lily Allen singing it as well, so then I went and bought three of her songs, because I don't know why I didn't own any already. But that was totally unecessary spending for no apparent reason.

I've seen fic about the bible and about Alexander Hamilton. I think maybe the :fanfic" distinction is the intent to publish privately rather than through publishing houses? Not necessarily to make a profit.
