Teacher Appreciation Quotes: Famous Sayings For Teachers And About Teaching
"Education's purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one." -Malcolm Forbes
"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." -William A. Ward
I forgot to say a scary Arizona related thing that happened on the bus the other day. The bus driver was an older Latino, and a young black man came on the bus and didn't have a dollar for the fare. He said he wasn't paying, and when the bus driver wanted him to get off the bus he kept saying "It is too bad we don't live in Arizona, cause when you call the police, they would take you. You don't even speak English!" It was a little scary, and actually the other riders came up with a dollar for this guy so we didn't have to wait for the police to come, because the bus driver was not going to drive until the man paid or got off, and that man was not going to budge.
Sophia, that is just scary. Some people suck.
we'll have a future where we'll be enslaved by intelligent robotic cats
Why should cats invent robots to do what they already do now?
Because cats riding on Roombas = awesome?
The reaction described to Black Lois Lane(Although, yes, she was very fly, and that might have made an interesting comic idea, really) reminds me of how I'd feel if there was a comic called Lois Lane: In a Cast For Six *whole* Weeks. @@.
Srsly. It's like Tyra Banks wearing a fat suit.
ugh, one of my adoption lists is exploding because an older child adopted in early 2006 has now been arrested for sexual assault and the abuses go back to his time in the orphanage and his yung sibling was a victim and then abuser himself. It's like 3-4 years of kids that might have been victimized.
W]e do not and will not tolerate illegal immigration bringing with it very much so the implications of crime and terrorism into our state," - Arizona Governor Jan Brewer (R).
Yes, because crossing a border so you can get a job and feed your family is exctly like, oh, say, planting a car bomb in the middle of Times Square. (Cue the world's tiniest violin.)

That reminds me of something that happened on the bus last week - it was pouring rain and a Hasidic guy ran across the street (against the light, in front of the bus) to make it to the bus stop on time. The driver got really pissed, and when the guy got on the bus he started harrassing him - "Oh, you're one of the chosen people, yeah? You're lucky I don't have you locked up, Moishe, what do you think this is Boro Park?" and so on and so on and kept threatening to have the guy "locked up". (The Hasidic guy was responding in kind, but minus the racial slurs and threats of violence.)
You know Arizona has been under terrorist attacks, if you will,
What if I won't?

Good grief. I don't know if I want to turn on the news or not. I lived in Nashville for a long time.
