So, I have solved my party anxiety by going shopping myself and cutting up the veggies and most of the fruit ahead of time, and making the salad dressing. So now when I get to the party, I only have to set stuff out, and cut up apples and such. P now just has to buy deli meat, rolls, chips, hummus and cheeses. I also bought napkins and a plastic salad bowl with a cover and a server. Now I just have to wash my serving things and pack them. Of course this means I have to carry vagetables, fruit, salad and serving things on the bus tomorrow, which should be fun.
I have also realized that perhaps my anxiety issues have not resolved themselves as much as I have made my life avoid situations which provoke my anxieties. Oy! This is a totally normal thing to do, and it has caused e such agita.
Also, my cat has been yowling and making all sort of unholy noises in front of the attic door, so I finally let her up there. Now she is yowling and making unholy noises in the attic. And I suspect her breathe may soon smell of dead things.
And the man who was sitting next to me on the bus with my four bags of groceries and screaming in Spanish and pointing and making obsene hand gestures at the lady across the aisle, and spittingon the floor ALSO had breathe that smelled like dead things.
OK, you have the dead thing problem much worse, Sophia.
Sophia, I'd double-check my zombie-fighting supplies and weapons if I were you.
I'm liking the mishmash of
eras
on Fringe. It's not trying to be one thing or another, just borrowing to look cool.
Also? My performance eval went well, as expected. I have a full plate ahead of me and in the process of thinking through those, realized something for the upcoming build that I have to take care of. Which is good. Also got to delegate some responsibilities. I don't really have minions, but I'm sort of setting myself to take responsibility as if I do. Which looks good. Also got some scuttlebutt that makes me think I really need to be included on some planning meetings. Hrm. May be setting up to join my favorite lightning rod. Oops.
Tomorrow will be a pain, because I think the upcoming build has some unforeseen issues. I have been reassured that if I test it and don't like what I see, I'll have full backing in putting it off (eta: and that's politically and practically a nightmare.) So that's nice. But I've got to sort out what we're seeing.
I still really want this shoe: [link] But I can't really justify it on my budget right now. Oooh, maybe I can ask my parents for an early b-day present. I know they'd rather do house stuff, but...I'm forgoing this for house stuff (namely mortgage.) eta: feh, no longer have my size anyway.
It's weird. I will use "theater" when I am going to see a movie but "theatre" when I am going to see a performance.
That's what people who work in theatre do, too, fwiw. In fact, some will toss a resume if they see "theater." Or so I've been told.
hey sara, if the work stuff gets too much, guess what you can do? water issues in your house.
YOU'RE WELCOME!
