tommyrot, what makes that noteworthy?
I remember my junior high librarian having a "Frodo Lives" plaque above her office door. I had to ask her what it meant, since I didn't read LotR until high school.
tommyrot, what makes that noteworthy?
Well, you mentioned it was a woman.

She was, though, (or identified as such) when it all started, wasn't she?
Heck, I got the "psychic marriage" thing wrong, too, so I'm not the most reliable source of LotR wacko fandom info.

It was helpful for me, I just popped the link open and skimmed for a few seconds. The contrast between names and pronouns was confusing.
ION, this io9 headline confused me for a second: Were-Monkeys? Were-Fish? Were-Ferrets? New Anthology Is Open To Going Any-Were.

I always think the best way to proceed is to use the pronouns the individual person prefers, but fandom_wank isn't exactly set up for that.

I totally don't know. Not doing it helps delineate the time period, but doing it maintains continuity. I assume everyone's preference on that varies, but if you're talking about someone not present, you often might not know their preference.
There should be a handbook. That would make things so much easier.
t edit Or, what Jess said.
