Mal: Gotta say, doctor, your talent for alienatin' folk is near miraculous. Simon: Yes, I'm very proud.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

This is the capsacin (I'm murdering that-chile hot stuff) based stuff?

Not java but I have a friend that I want to look into it. It is capsicum-based. I am so happy to hear that patients are getting relief with it.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Having experienced shingles, I'm thrilled with the new medication's results, java!

I think I'm going to curl up with Pride & Prejudice and Zombies and go to bed early.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

At which point she realized that I was talking about her ex-boyfriend.

Wait, up till then she'd thought it was some other carrot-toting, bunny hat-wearing guy? Just because he dresses like one doesn't mean he's breeding like one, y'know.

Badass.

Occasionally I am ninja.

If any of you get Digital Protector/Security Tools 2010 on your computers, I wish you luck, because that goddamn little mofo is adapting fast. Getting it off a virtual machine probably is more problematic than it would be with a physical machine, although if I just remembered to take a snapshot I could revert the next time a machine gets infested.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

My fake free nyc cable is being wonky. the normal channels (2,4,5,7,9...) are not coming in about half the time, but I can get HD channels if I search them out (101, 104...). the channels do not line up to any HD channel listing I can find. I am getting sick of it and trying to figure it out, so did an internet search and I found some techy listserve things with people who are getting basic cable without the box and they are mapping out various channel listings for each other (apparently it varies depending on area). I've also decided to let me TiVO do a channel scan and just see what it comes up with. If it finds more stuff maybe I can program it to get those channels also.

This and then I am crashing: one of the things about the Arizona bullshit that makes me crazy is that it isn't new. Just as shameful, but not new. See, growing up on the border, you accustom yourself to INS (at the time, I guess it is ICE or HS now) checkpoints. And it ALWAY pissed me off that shiny white faces got waved through. Even when dad was transporting fucking Soviets and East German citizens right past White Sands Missile Range, Holoman AFB and various other sensitive defense facilities. But god, if you had someone with a browner complexion in the car, you'd get stopped, and the non-blanc would get the "Are you an american citizen?" question usually followed by a request for id. And it fucking pissed me off, every time. Nevermind that every time I encountered this? Their families had been settled legally in this country longer than my own pale ass family. Few times, my friends balked at id, because *I* didn't get asked for one and it wasn't fun. Talked their way out of it, but shit. Either you ask everyone, or you ask no one. And yeah, that's another huge issue cause outside SSid, few are keen on the concept on national id.

And in the meantime, while I was growing up and getting incensed at the checkpoints, my father was bypassing them on backroads, illegally transporting El Salvadorans, Guatemalans and Nicaraguans to political asylum in Canada. So.

You already know this, sarameg, but you have a very cool dad.

His daughter's pretty awesome too.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh Kat, a room full of adults? That is preposterous!

For toys, would hanging toy hammocks work? Gets 'em out from under, are easy to put up and not too expensive.

And yep, this is the CHILI PEPPER drug. And I named my dog wayyyyy before I ever started working there; it was fate.

Smonster, it's not supposed to be placed anywhere near mucus membranes and eyes. But very small patches can probably be cut for strategic placement. And seriously, I can not begin to imagine how much pain Shingles on the face must be!

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Something the assholes who support this have not though about. If a cop really obeys this new rule all the way, then if a victim reports a crime, or someone witnesses a crime the cop is still obliged to check any reasonable suspicion of undocumented status. Given that crime victims won't report crimes and witnesses sure as hell won't come forward. So basically this law means its supporters hate brown people more than they hate rapists or murderers. Also when you put people outside the law, there is a real temptation to form your own organization for protection and revenge. I think that is how a lot of large scale gangs get started - not as profit making enterprises, but as a form of protection where there is no real distinction between cops and criminals.
