Nora, I'm so excited for you both! How wonderful...even if it is hellaciously stressy.

hip deep in pie

Woohoo Nora and Tom. Does this mean they gave him what he asked for?

Sophia, go to a doctor at the school. You can see your regular doctor another time.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

A few summers ago, I worked with someone who had that same face-hurting and droopy-eye thing after a cold. It was an ear infection, and the swelling was compressing some nerves. She didn't go to a doctor (because health care at this work place sucked, among other reasons), and then she woke up one morning and that entire side of her face was paralyzed. The swelling had gone from pressing against the nerve to completely crushing it. The doctor told her that something like 80% of people who get that recover, but pretty much all they could do was treat the ear infection, and then wait and see. (I don't know if she ever recovered, but by the time that job ended, about three weeks later, her face was still paralyzed.)

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

WHOOT WHOOT NORA AND TOM!

And I bought my tickets for moving today and scheduled the movers. July 12th to pack, 13th to load, and mac and I fly out the 14th with the cats. It could be as late as the 27th for them to get us our stuff, but I am guess more like the 19th or 20th.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Nora! Tom! How incredibly excellent! Moving to New Orleans rocks.

Sophia, yeah, ambulatory care isn't giving up your doctor. Don't get caught up in loyalty issues here, except to your health.

Someone at work described a smiley in office email as being akin to a "take that!" headbutt. In context I totally had to agree with him, and I still can't get around a proper systems-outage-response email having an emoticon in it.

Nora, can you give me links to your place again?

“Not dead yet!”

OH MOST EXCELLENT, NORA AND TOM!!

I'll quit shouting now, but I'm all in favor of people making moves happen that will make them happy.
