I'm tucking this away for guilt material later. I'm extremely proud of his written communication skills. The early adolescence, not so much.
I can only imagine what rooined his life. From my experience as a 5 year old, I'm guessing it's something he thinks will make him a social outcast and pariah! for the rest of his life.
Yeah, I zeroed in on the "Love, Owen" part too. Although it can't feel good in the slightest. We're just still recovering from the first "I HATE YOOOOOOOOUUUUUU" from a few months ago.
I was stunned, but came back with, "Well, I don't like you much right now. Still love you, but like you? Nope. You're a pretty unlikable little twerp right now."
It immediately turned the fury into stunned disbelief.
When I was volunteering in his classroom this morning, his teacher put him in another group and he didn't get to do my center first. It wasn't even my fault! I didn't choose the groups. But somehow, I was supposed to overrule his teacher and make it better.
