umm, I know it's a total pot calling kettle, but that's not that hard (that's what she said!)
I pretty much don't go to straight bars anymore, except with the rugby boys. And that's why I don't have a boyfriend, my two main social groups are rugby players and gay men. And when you're the sister of the large angry black man, boys tend to be a little shy.
Oh, and technically, I have three social groups - the other being my theatre folks. But we end up gay bars more often than not.
One of my favorite gay bars, my local as a matter of fact, has gotten a little douchy lately. We think that it's because it was on the Real World DC because the gay guy was dating someone who worked there. Now, there are an annoying number of annoying straight people. Last week, there was actually a line! For a SPORTS BAR!

I sort of get the guilt thing when being hit upon. Usually I feel a twinge of "oh I am so not the person you think you're hitting on" when getting hit on. I don't feel like my insides match my outsides at all.
