Hey, preaching to the choir. I thought our Lady of the Perpetual Sea Breeze was the real deal until the Divine Miss J walked right through that door and right into my ass—which is where my heart is…physiologically. I could show you an x-ray.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I had a CSA for a chunk of time when I lived in the bay area. A CSA you choose from, though, seems more likely to be known as a farmers' market.

Our wings are not tired.

brenda, I think so. No one wants to talk ugly while dining.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

That's gotta be a good sign, right?

I'm going to go with yes.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

You can use daikon in pretty much any Japanese recipe in the same way. It is kinda strong, though.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Subsequent IM from my boss:

V_____, Chris (US) [8:51 PM]:
Ah! Ok...so, we will just do your review over dinner...and talk about JM, and then have fun
V_____, Chris (US) [8:51 PM]:
But your review will be fun!

So, not like I was worried. But still.

And also, here is where we're doing dinner: [link]

Except I spend more than $5/week on produce.... which is essentially what the CSA is offering. Just a subscription plan, I guess (and I like that if you miss pickups, they have a list of local orgs they will donate your share too.)

Now tagless for your comfort.

Mine did this, too. Which I like.

I just sliced off the end of one of them and ate it, and I'm pleased to report that I really like it. I'll figure something out tomorrow.

This is not exactly a CSA, but it's a weekly produce share from this little organic grocery down the street. Each week is 4 veg/ 2 fruit, $15 a week.

This week's is:

Mango
Oranges
Ginger & Garlic
Bok Choy
Broccoli
Daikon

Also, is it possible to have a crush on a store? Because I totally do. Everything is really good, local as much as they can, and, um, not cheap. And unfortunately by "everything" at this point I mostly mean beer. But they're so *nice* that I also end up buying $10 craft perogis and shit.

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

I don't know why it bothers me so that I'll probably need to throw out the last steak from a value pack tomorrow. It's only about $1.40 worth of meat, so it's not like I've come home to discover a refrigerator full of spoiled food or anything. The punctured cheap-ass TV dinner I bought the other week was a bigger financial outlay.

You can't freeze it?
