I know some places have like a grab box where you can leave stuff you know you won't use. I just started up with this so I don't really know if they do that or not.
If I can't figure out something I'll take it into the office and see if there are any takers.
While I was at the Parent-Teacher Organization meeting, DH caught Owen in the middle of creating an ebay account. If we start getting shipments of Lego to the house, I'm going to be very put out.
The main reason DH was worried about me was that we're facing a huge school referendum vote next month to keep vital operations for the school system and we're dealing with a huge anti-tax backlash.
One of the CSAs has a deal that if you pick up from the farmer's market, you can pick from whatever is available, rather than their standard allotment. Next year, once I see how good I am about getting to the market, and the amount of produce I go through, I may do that. Even a half-share is a lot for a single (like me) to go through, but I may talk to the neighbors to see if we could go in together. (Half share is $250/ year, 4 items per week, a head of lettuce or a quart or bunch of smaller stuff being one item.)
So, my performance review is tomorrow morning.
My boss is in town so she can do reviews in person and we'd made plans to go to dinner at this fabulous vegetarian restaurant in my neighborhood.
She just IM'd to see if I want to just do the review over dinner. That's gotta be a good sign, right?
I want a csa we can choose what we want this year. Last year's we took whatever they gave us.
OK, I really am going to keep a spreadsheet for what I spend on produce this next year at the market. Because....yeah, that's a really great deal.
Dolley Madison was really amazing.
I had a CSA for a chunk of time when I lived in the bay area. A CSA you choose from, though, seems more likely to be known as a farmers' market.
brenda, I think so. No one wants to talk ugly while dining.
That's gotta be a good sign, right?
I'm going to go with yes.
