Goodbye and Good Riddance 2009: So long and thanks for all the fish.

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2009? Don't think we've forgotten about you

Our wings are not tired.

I got home last night from work to see a big box on my front porch and hurried it inside. Aims had already given me big hints on the contents, but the real thing was even better. She made me a super big and super cozy San Francisco Giants fleece blanket!!! See her work of art here!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I must have checked the All About Java list a million times and it *is* the Giants you love and listen to all the time when you are driving, right??

I wish I could have convinced you she was a bigger A's fan. That would have been priceless. But that blanket is PERFECT for Nanita.

I actually have an Aimee blanket myself. It isn't baseball related, but it is very snugly.

Wake up thread.

Back in December a Secret Santa tried to be extra special sneaky and send my package to one of my stops in California during my vacation. The post office intervened and it didn't arrive while I was in town. The very awesome intermediary mailed the package on to me once she received it. And it never arrived.

Through the intermediary I received a note that my Secret Santa would be sending another something, which I thought was amazingly sweet, but I felt awful that someone was having to do double duty for me cause of the stoooopid post office.

Today, in the freezing cold, I made CJ brave the walk to the mailbox and he brought back a package! YAY! When I opened it there was a very sweet note from my...Secret Valentine (love it). As tomorrow is my birthday, I'll take this as a birthday treat too. And, man, she outdid herself.

Under the note was a fantastic mug with my first initial in fancy script. Black on white. Perfect. Fueling my love of tea, there is a box of assam breakfast tea from Two Leaves and a Bud (from Aspen - hah!) and a box of Sencha Green tea. Can't wait to taste them! Feeding my chocolate addiction is a package of dark chocolate covered blueberries and some dark chocolate truffles (YUM!!!). The next thing I saw was a palm tree. I have to admit, there was an extra squee before I even looked to see that it is a scent pouch. Love. There is also a big PINK polka dotted magnetic "S" (pink? really?) that will adorn my fridge (with the bay area magnets from last year's Secret Santa). The final piece...Zen in the Martial Arts. I can't wait to read it.

Thank you Amy G. You are an awesome Secret Santa/Valentine/Birthday gifter. I just hope whoever ended up with the first box appreciates the goodies.

Because books.

Oh, thank god. The Fulton post office came *thisclose* to being firebombed. I'm so glad you liked it! You were a wonderful person to gift, babe.

No firebombing. I don't have bail money for ya.

I forgot to add the part of my prezzie that had me cackling like a mad woman. Three, count them THREE bottles of green nail polish!!! Slightly different shade and nothing that duplicates the greens I already have. WOOOOT. I think I know what I'm doing tomorrow.

Thanks again!

We should really establish a group fund. I'm just saying.
