Goodbye and Good Riddance 2009: So long and thanks for all the fish.

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2009? Don't think we've forgotten about you

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I have got the bestest secret santa in the whole wide world!! There was a little peach slip in my mail box last week saying I had a package waiting for me at the post office. I kept putting off picking it up for various really stupid reasons (even stupider once I got home and opened it), but today I swung by the PO and as soon as I got home I tore right into it.

Eeeee! I can haz sour cherry vodka! This totally yummy stuff that Brenda fed me when I went down to visit a few weeks ago that she made herself. I almost don't want to drink it, because it is so delicious and eventually it will be gone and I won't have more. But...it's so good! I will drink it out of a thimble.

And, I got cherry candies (my love of cherries knows no bounds), key lime cookies, cheese cookies, a gift card for Starbuck's (my coffee budget will love you forever), and a bar of sea vegetable soap from Lush. Everything is so yummy tasting and smelling!

Thank you, Brenda!! You're the bestest.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Awesome! I was so excited when I realized I had another bottle - glad it made it intact!

Indeed, it did. I was so happy when I saw the "fragile" on the box with your name, because I was hoping beyond hope it would be the cherry vodka. If that had been the only thing in the box, I still would have been over the moon!

So does this get closed now? And all the people who didn't get a gift remain ungifted?

Our wings are not tired.

Good question. I know some of us volunteered to give gifts to those who never received.

I did a back-up Santa! But I don't think I've seen any other posts about back-ups. Suzi can maybe tell us if it's worth waiting a bit.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

No, the thread is supposed to be closed regardless. Nilly "Sunnydale Press" Nov 14, 2009 10:03:28 pm PST

Fair enough. Anyone getting late Santa gifts can come to Natter.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

(I shouldn't have started that with "no" -- bad family trait.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay, guys. 2009 is gone, and saying goodbye to 2009 is done and gone.

Thanks for playing, and see you again for ringing out 2010.
