This isn't a come-on. I'm in a very serious relationship with a landscape architect.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Always Anti-fascist!

Told off my first idiot of the new week. Feel pretty great about it, too...why did I spend so much time avoiding doing it? It's five by five. Except I'm hungry and...well, never mind. Knee-jerk cynicism pisses me off, yeah, even though I've got the soul of a murder po-lice in some ways. And I get that there are people looking to victimize others. But if I thought that was all life was about, I'd have killed myself when I wanted to.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Chocolate cake for breakfast. This is why it's good to be a grown-up: you don't need permission.

Stephanie, do you know for certain that the woman is really pregnant? Folks like that (rather, the kind of folks I suspect they are) are likely to make up any story if they think it will get them sympathy and help - meaning, money and a free place to stay. Don't be surprised if they show up on your doorstep with no warning, having some dire emergency such that a nice person like you couldn't possibly turn them away. Don't let them in your house; they'll never leave. Possibly pre-arm yourself with knowledge of some places in the area where people can go and stay for a while, like a hostel or a shelter, and the number of a local cab company. If you give them ANYTHING, they will keep coming back for more.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Skipping to ask some urgent peace and health and clam~ma to both sister and dog.

Both had a very miserable day, and an ugly meeting with a vet.

Trust my rage

Stephanie, do you know for certain that the woman is really pregnant?

Yeah, I've asked myself the same question. She *looks* 3-4 months pregnant, but I'm not sure.

She texted me this morning saying "I'm our of the hospital. Yay! So, baby shower just before Valentine's Day?" I haven't responded but I don't think so.

eta: And Shir, I'm sorry both sis and dog are having such a rough day.

I haven't responded but I don't think so.

I think you're going to be busy. It seems weird (and sort of rude) to me to try and make you commit now to a shower 3 months from now. Unless she's trying to ask you if you'll throw it, in which case it's just plain rude.

~ma for the dog and your sister, Shir.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Note to self: Do not eat sugar. In particular, do not have a glass of wine followed by a slice of cake when your grandmother takes you out to lunch. Not only is it not great for your diet, but you will sleep all afternoon, wake up too tired to work on your dissertation, and generally waste the day and end up feeling rubbish about your life and crappy body.

Monday, dudes. What's that about?

Stephanie, that's a really odd situation. I think Sparky's suggestion that you're going to be busy is a good one - especially if she's asking you to host (which is how I read the text you posted).

Shir, ~ma for your sister and dog.

Sparky is wise (duh). Plus, who is she expecting at this shower if she has no other friends she could stay with overnight? A shower with just the two of you? Heck no.

Our wings are not tired.

~ma to you and yours, Shir.

Stephanie, I think I would be too busy to text back. I could honestly say I didn't know my plans for 3 days from now much less 3 months from now.

Possibly she's expecting Stephanie to supply the friends, as well.
