Windsparrow, thanks for the cat info! He is doing better now. And thanks for the link to the Ultimate Zoom-Out. Awesome, in the truest sense.
I don't understand "clown fear". Is it the Uncanny Valley thing?
It is snowing like a mofo. There's probably 7 inches already and it's still coming down hard. I can enjoy the prettiness because I don't have to leave the house, but I am a bit worried about "my" stray kitties. There's food and warm covered baskets on the porch, but still.
Just realized I missed a mandatory company-wide meeting last week that telecommuters are supposed to attend virtually. It seems that no one has noticed.
FTR, I am an INFP. I think. It's been a while since I took the MB, and I didn't care.
Aims, FWIW, I sympathize with your dilemma about Suzy. My BFF G.'s daughter is the worst case of ADHD I've ever seen; even with Ritalin she's hyper, without it she's a little hurricane. G. is constantly on edge because she never knows what the kid is going to do next. If Suzy's mother is young, I'm sure she's overwhelmed.
My mother called me to tell me that she bought me a cookbook for Chanukah, but she started reading through it and really liked it, so she's keeping it for herself, but she's going to cook me stuff from it.
Haha - I've done that before. But I usually wind up buying a second copy for the original intended giftee.
Much mom~ma, erika.
You are definitely welcome, Zenkitty.
well, it's snowpacolypse in DC. supposed to get 14-20 inches. I made it home from the theatre fine; a brief scary moment going down the ramp to the garage, but my car is safely in my very expensive parking space.
I passed 5 plows on my way home, but none of them were actually plowing.
We don't even have plows! A couple good ol' boys just went by in big-ass pickup trucks; maybe that tamped the snow down enough for cars. Nobody should be driving in this anyway. Two feet! Of snow! Pocalypse!
If I could control them with my mind, I could make an army of the number of stray cats huddling in baskets on my porch. (Okay, I think there are six. A small army.)
I think clown fear arises from clowns getting too familiar during childhood.
none of them were actually plowing
Rumor has it that the plows don't like to actually plow around here for fear of breaking the blades (because there are so few of them, relatively speaking).
There are probably close to 8 inches outside in my yard (for a more accurate reading, ask my dog, because she's the only one who has been out there), and the Capitol Weather Gang is saying 16-20 because it is going to snow all day.
Stay safe, people. That white shit is mean, nasty stuff.
I just got reunited with my books. The books I left in my ex-flat. There aren't enough words to express the joy. Hello, my carefully selected Resling collection. Hello, my fandom books. Hello, sci-fi. Hello, Yeats and other classics. How I've missed you, you'll never know.
ION.
Health~ma, to your mom, erika, and calm~ma for you. Extanded ~ma to the rest of you who need it, job to brackets.
IOON. Does anybody knows why it costs 10$ to subscribe to Wired if you're in the U.S., but 70$ if you're outside of it? Shipping really doesn't cost that much.
It is Saturday. I was wide awake about 5:30. Please explain.
