People told us my biological clock would start to tick, and I suppose it did in the form of increasing sex drive, but it never did in terms of seeing pink baby faces and needing to raise them.
This is totally me. I have no idea what the "biological clock" is supposed to feel like, because I have never ever had a must-have-baby urge in my life. (Wondering what the biological clock feels like reminds me of the first time I smoked pot [hi, Internet] -- I kept asking my friends, "What should I be *feeling*? I'm not feeling anything! Should I be feeling something? What???")
If you get a dog that is smart enough, it can help you take care of the stupid one.

OMG, after my divorce, every single guy I dated for more than 2 weeks I wanted to have a baby with. Don't ask me why and I was so frigging grateful that I'd had my tubes tied. Fortunately, those urges always passed quickly, but I never could figure where they came from. I had two kids, it's all I ever wanted, didn't really want more. But, it was like my genes would perk up and say "you'd make pretty babies--WANT!"

My baby alarm rang. Thank dog it unrung. Sheesh. Entities. Dependent on me. Nightmare. But for a while the compulsion to replicate DNA was very strong. The problem was finding someone with the right similar-but-less-flawed DNA.
