Say! look at you! You look just like me! We're very pretty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

The passport has to be valid for 6 months. Jon just turned in his expedited application today. I could get a visa, but he can't until after November.

I could go without him, but that seems rude since the trip is a present from his boss.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My favorite part of the emails from IT that say things like "we're taking the server down, so don't try to work from 10pm to 11pm tonight" or "don't log in this Sunday!" is the unspoken and unchallenged assumption that at least some people (like myself) would indeed be working at those times.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Happy anniversary, Seska!

My sympathies to those suffering passport bureaucracy.

Also sympathies to those working the support jobs. I was lucky enough not to have to use a script - the job is trying enough in and of itself.

Steph, I hope you make it through the funeral today. I can relate. Hope the weather at least shows a little mercy.

Thanks, omnis audia. I didn't go into detail because I'm going through a really rough time right now and if I went into detail here and it was passed over without a ripple, I would feel even more depressed than I already do.

Spidra, I meant to mention, FWIW, we had a cantor at my stepfather's and my mother's funerals. I'd say it's worth looking into.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The passport has to be valid for 6 months.

Has to be, or has to have been? I'm wondering suddenly, because I know I've run across where you can't get a visa if the passport will expire in under six months, but I'm not sure I've seen that it can't be recently issued.

Which it very well could be, I'm sure you're on top of it. But it could be worth double checking.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Jon asked today, but I will totally get him to double check! Good idea, thanks!

Now I'm looking at it, and it looks like y'all are right! Have texted hubs to let him know?

Birthday in Goa after all!

Yes! What Brenda said is what I was confused by! I was like "if his passport is expiring in six months, why can't he expedite a new one NOW, and still have time to get a visa, it's only August!"

YAY, glad to hear things will work out!

And in more tales of passportage, I am going to give mine its first workout by flying first class to VIENNA for Christmas! Well, I probably won't stay in Vienna (my brother lives in Brno, and I don't know where we might go to--Prague? elsewhere?). But still! Whee!

Thanks, Zenkitty. I appreciate people's answers so I can get a reality check on this thing.

Our wings are not tired.

When I married Stephen we had musicians and a singer, but they were arranged individually. He made all the arrangements. There was piano and organ music provided by people he knew from the church and the singer he knew from the opera. I pretty much just showed up.
