But I understand. You gave up everything you had to find me. And you found me broken. It's hard for you.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm glad the Boy's mother is in her own home, surrounded by loved ones. And I'm glad the Boy has you there for him, Steph.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

sj, from experience, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about eloping. No planning angst, no quarrels, no decisions, no placating factions, just you and your beloved and a benevolent officiant, and a hotel full of fondly disposed staff. Bliss. Put all that dress, venue, flower and refreshments money toward a house down payment, or a fabulous honeymoon.

At least this way we're making everyone unhappy equally.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I recommend trying not to overthink or stress out about the elopement- pretty much nullifies the whole point of the thing... You can always do the Jon and FAQ Wife special- hit the city hall and have an awesome dinner afterward!

There are no rules. There is no wrong way to do it.

Well, the point of it is to make YOU happy. AMIRITE?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I'm not sure what happened, but in the span of an hour, The Boy called and said his brother would be staying tonight so I could just come out there and pick him up (his car is at the hospital), and then called back a while later and said no, he needed a bag, he was going to stay after all.

I don't know if his mom is about to die, or his brother couldn't stay (he lives ~1 hr away), or both. Anyway, I'm about to head out there with a bag for him.

Thanks SO MUCH for the good thoughts and the prayers. I believe they help.

I don't think I know how to do anything without overthinking and overstressing. I should learn that skill someday.

Yeah, that was sarcasm. I am happy.

The status is NOT quo.

Hugs to you and the Boy, Tep. As I said, call or email if you want to talk.

sj, I know it can be overwhelming, even though it's also happy-making. Hang in there.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm glad she's home for however long she has, Tep. Love to you all.

Good luck with minimizing the stress and maximizing the happy, sj

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

SJ, I speak for myself and the handful of other 'ffistas who have the power. I'd be happy to marry you two. Just an idea. C'mon out to SoCal.

Omnis, that sounds awesome, but I think we're going to stick to New England. The idea of traveling to SoCal is still a bit painful to me. Everything there reminds me of a friend that passed away a few years back.
