Oh goodness. I'm sorry for over-reacting and not knowing the history. I had a client have to rush her pup to the vet after folks, unaware of the issue, fed her grapes at a party. I'm a bit knee-jerky. Or, at least, jerky.
I'm still amazed that they haven't isolated what made grapes suddenly become toxic. Though, the Snopes article helped clear up something for me. I thought it had only been about 5 years since the onset of the problem, but Snopes suggests it's been since 1989. How can that be?
Anyway, my knee is safely tucked back where it belongs.
I wonder if it's always been a problem, it's just better recordkeeping/databases that have made veterinarians more aware of the problem. The info age has brought many things into higher profile than they were before.
WHY IS MY CHILD SINGING JUSTIN BIEBER???
Play her some new Hanson instead!
I've been watching that Hanson video over and over! It makes me happy.
No offense taken -- much better to get the word out, and anyway you weren't around when my girl still was, so. (FWIW, I interpret the Snopes article as saying that the problem was first identified in 1989, which doesn't mean that grapes suddenly became toxic then, at all. And which makes much more sense that way.)
Our cat sniffs but won't taste people food, which is odd because she licks curtains, tables, and chairs. But I even tried giving her tuna and she did not seem to care.
Oh God, Aims, I'm so sorry. I hope this will be resolved quickly without too much hassle.
Hil, I'd advise to email/call the school again, but I'm a stranger to the magnificent world of American job market. You're all weirdos to me.
Also, job~ma for Fern.
See, this is like asking his opinion on oven cleaner. As a responsible parent, I have a duty to protect him from such things until his sense of self-preservation exceeds that of a rat infected with toxoplasmosis.
Did I mention my love to bt and his family yet? No?
I'd forgotten about the Colin Firth obsession in Bridget Jones
Who can forget the Colin Firth obsession? I never read Bridget Jones, but once you've seen the BBC production of P&P, you could never go back.
ION: "no. fuck." is the appropriate response when a somewhat new, good friend is revealing herself as one of the masses who believe that a commando takeover of a civil ship outside of Israel's territory is in fact, a lynch in IDF soldiers. As one of my favorite blogs said it "I'd really love to know what they're adding to the water to make people believe that". I never get political emails/FWeds, but my email box in the past 48 hours got flooded with emails of the left and right. But damn. I really like that friend.
(Pre-coffied, apologies for typos)
Our cat sniffs but won't taste people food, [snip] But I even tried giving her tuna and she did not seem to care.
This used to be Kittenish. DxH was boggled when she didn't want the water from a can of tuna. She'd sniff things but didn't want to eat them.
Now? She eats tuna (thankfully a cat version with cat nutrients) nearly exclusively. And stole a steak off of a date's plate when I cooked for us one night. She's all about the quality protein.
She'll tell anyone who will listen that she also LOVES cheese but she's lactose intolerant and I clean up enough cat puke, so no. But in San Diego, before I realized this, I think she loved taquito nights as much as I did. Mmm, shreddy cheese.
Cat + corn-on-the-cob = I have NO idea.
Dude. That's a cat eating corn on the cob. Like a badass cat.
