Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I like the shirt. It looks good.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Good heavens, Teppy, you'd better shove some of that pistachio baklava through the interpipes to me, so I can avoid nightmares after looking at that... abomination.

Shir, that shirt is so cute, it looks great on you.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

OK. By popular vote, I'll keep and wear it.

And will try to get over the front thing.

THIS is fluffy: [link].

Jesus Christ. I don't think that even David Bowie can wear it and get away with it.

Sorry. It is IN MAH BELLEH.

See? I'm just saying, when you think the front of *your* shirt is fluffy, remember the abomination and know that your shirt is not fluffy.

I like the shirt too. I think it suits you, Shir.

So, a really nice thing happened today.

I whinged here about the poor quality of the Red Cross course I took on Sunday. Well, through a series of mildly irritating circumstances, I found myself speaking to the director of health and safety training today. Lovely man. Very interested in my feedback and completely willing to let me retake the course.

BUT, in addition, he is giving me a FREE instructor training!! That's multiple hundreds of dollars I'd not spend otherwise and will give me to tools to offer classes on the Hill. I'm absolutely thrilled.

My squeaky wheel definitely got greased...in a good way.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Way to go, bonny!! That's terrific.

Love the shirt, Shir.

Mmmm, baklava. I've been debating what to have for dinner tonight, and I now think I'll be stopping at Pita Inn (my favorite Chicagoland mini-franchise) for some chicken schawarma, pita bread and hummus, and homemade baklava for dessert.

What an exciting opportunity!

I know, right? A friend just suggested that instructors actually get paid. Which, frankly, never occurred to me...so that's nice.

But more than that, the opportunity to do something constructive with my insufferable notitallness and desire to do right by the community pet population? Priceless!

I'll also be fully trained for people, which will be really nice. At this point, I could (and have done) get by in a pinch, but having the confidence this training will give me is an awesome gift.

Hey, Andi! I owe this all to you. THANKS.
