I like the shirt too. I think it suits you, Shir.
So, a really nice thing happened today.
I whinged here about the poor quality of the Red Cross course I took on Sunday. Well, through a series of mildly irritating circumstances, I found myself speaking to the director of health and safety training today. Lovely man. Very interested in my feedback and completely willing to let me retake the course.
BUT, in addition, he is giving me a FREE instructor training!! That's multiple hundreds of dollars I'd not spend otherwise and will give me to tools to offer classes on the Hill. I'm absolutely thrilled.
My squeaky wheel definitely got greased...in a good way.
bonny, that is terrific. What an exciting opportunity!
Way to go, bonny!! That's terrific.
Love the shirt, Shir.
Mmmm, baklava. I've been debating what to have for dinner tonight, and I now think I'll be stopping at Pita Inn (my favorite Chicagoland mini-franchise) for some chicken schawarma, pita bread and hummus, and homemade baklava for dessert.
What an exciting opportunity!
I know, right?
A friend just suggested that instructors actually get paid. Which, frankly, never occurred to me...so that's nice.
But more than that, the opportunity to do something constructive with my insufferable notitallness and desire to do right by the community pet population? Priceless!
I'll also be fully trained for people, which will be really nice. At this point, I could (and have done) get by in a pinch, but having the confidence this training will give me is an awesome gift.
Hey, Andi! I owe this all to you. THANKS.
That's very cool, Bonny. Sounds like something you'd be great at.

Well, you know, we are all big fans of a good lube here.
Hey, Andi! I owe this all to you. THANKS.
I was totally picturing you being a pet first aid/cpr instructor. Just had that image in my head. It's more than cool that it's working out.
Just gotta accept that you're gonna sweat, try to take it easy, and walk in the shade.
Dude, are you
sure
you weren't a southerner already?
That shirt - which Teppy called "fluffy" - I think went past fluffy and into frilled lizard territory. Perhaps a representation of a hitherto unknow species of dinosaur.
