I don't fancy spending the next month trying to get librarian out of the carpet.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My brain has mostly calmed down now. I'm not sure what to do about dinner, though -- pretty much every option involves something that I know will trigger more panic. Cooking something means dealing with the mess in the kitchen first. Going out to buy something that I can just microwave means dealing with all the people outside. Ordering in means having to pick from a ton of options, and also dealing with at least some of the kitchen mess.

Compassionately intolerant

Huh. A spin around google tells me I can actually buy a caffeine solution...by the gallon...to put in homemade energy drinks. I think I'm scared.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Regular tonic water has calories? I always assumed it was just fizzy water with quinine (or whatever the quinine-like ingredient is).

Tonic water contains sugar. In fact, most tonic water is made with HFC. Sad but true.

Srsly. Another illusion shattered. I always mentally put tonic water in the same category as club soda/seltzer/sparkling water (all of which are, I realize, slightly different from each other).

Hil, would it help if order in and have us make the choices?

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

You can eat pizza or Chinese out of the boxes and not have to deal with the mess in the kitchen.

No vegan pizza that delivers to my neighborhood.

I'd still have to deal with the phone and stuff, which would be a bigger hassle.

I just cleaned up a little bit of the kitchen and I've got the dishwasher running. I think that, with a little more rest, I'll be OK for going to 7-11 and getting some frozen burritos or something. Or maybe to the takeout Mexican place, which is about the same distance in the other direction, and getting a much better burrito. The 7-11 clerk tends to want to make small talk, and there's usually someone asking for spare change outside.

Coding and Sleeping

Burrito is the right decision.

I just remembered that I told people that I would "probably" have homemade cookies for anyone who came to my practice talk tomorrow. I think I might have to go with "probably doesn't mean definitely." Although I do sometimes find that baking is calming.

Getting actually hungry now. Get dressed first, go get dinner, come home, eat dinner, then figure out cookies. And if all else fails, get a package of Oreos on the way to the office tomorrow morning.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Oreos are always acceptable.
