I wouldn't leave it, Andi, it'll get infected. I've pulled hard-to-get splinters out with glue before, but I don't know if that's a good idea given where it is. You should probably go to a doctor.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Sorry, Andi, I can't seem to think anything other than OWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW OW OW OW OW OWWWWW in response to your post.
Oh, maybe if you soak it in epsom salts? Or just warm water, maybe. I seem to recall that that might draw a splinter out.
Andi, I've found hydrogen peroxide to be pretty effective at drawing out a splinter. Keep pouring it in--helps stave off infection, too.
owowow. cringing. Golly I hope the splinter comes out soon with little fuss or pain.
ok, going with the hydrogen peroxide. thanks all.
FWIW, I took a big splinter into my thigh while building a wall out of railroad cross-ties and it didn't come out for six weeks, but it didn't get infected.
Yikes, four police officers were killed in Lakewood, near Seattle. Looks like they might have been targeted since they were meeting before their shift.
Thanks, hec. it does seem to be more wedged up under the nail but not really embedded in the flesh. So i'm gonna go with keeping it clean and monitoring for infection.

Near Tacoma. Not near Seattle!
(Lakewood's the space that's right by McCord AFB, south of Tacoma proper. It's ooky.)
Near Tacoma. Not near Seattle!
Tell it to Google news! (They said near Seattle.)
Nonetheless: Four cops down. That's a bad day.
