[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Lots of ~ma, quester.
Nora, I hope Taz is okay. I don't suppose your route will come down through NC, will it?
I'm so sorry people seem to be having a hard time of it lately. Work's been rough, so I haven't been around a lot.~ma for them what needs it.
So excited for you Nora. It looks like all major highways in TN are open [link]

Amen. I'm having to step away from the keyboard a lot today already. And it's not even 9AM.

If only they would have stayed in the interwebs, and out of my RL...
The Cumberland is at its highest since the 1975 flood
I remember that. I was 12. We lived on the side of a hill so only the acreage near the road flooded, but it washed out our little bridge and we were stuck until we could rebuild it.
I can help you hunt up information on how to do a novel protein food trial to see if that is the source of the itchiness.
Windsparrow, thanks. I'd appreciate that. For now, I'm removing fish from their diets and see if it gets better. Corn, wheat, soy, and beef, too? I try to avoid feeding them grains, but I'll remove soy and beef too and see what happens when I add it back. (Leo tears open the bag of regular Purina cat food I keep for the outside cats. It's like junk food to a teenager. I know; I need to put it in a tub.)
I'm actually furious about it.
I would be, too, Shir!
Hmm, we are planning to drive to New Orleans through Strasburg VA and Chattanooga TN next week- should we rethink our route in light of the flooding?
Obviously, you must reroute through Atlanta. (Did you get an e-mail from me, Nora?)
The really bad flooding was in middle Tennessee, although there was a lot of wet elsewhere. We got the end of that storm and had flooding in the usual suspects. I think the only interstates really affected were around Nashville.
Speaking of the flooding, it looks like RWA National is definitely not going to be in Nashville-- they were investigating trying the convention center/multiple hotel route, but that's not going to work either since the damage is so widespread and things are in such a massive state of flux.
Which is fine-- I'm happy with wherever they wind up holding it and I'll definitely try to go because I suspect RWA is going to need the support what with all the people whining about how these damned inconsiderate floods are MESSING with their plans.
My favorite "Are you fucking kidding me?" moment: RWA should have had a contingency plan in place with reservations at another hotel/resort, just in case.
The stupid, it burns.

We drove through the Strasburg area on Saturday (day trip into WV), and everything was just fine.
If TN is too badly flooded, you could detour onto I-77 in SW VA, then get onto I-85 at Charlotte, NC. That'll take you through Atlanta.
People: you might want to opt out of Spokeo, pronto [link]
