Could just be a hoax, though. I fake some headaches, everyone gets used to poor helpless Spike. Then one day, no warning, I snap a spine, bend a head back, drain 'em dry. Brilliant.

Spike ,'Potential'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Sean, is it a renewal? My recent expediated renewal happened in a week, which was crazy. I expected it to take a month at least. I doubt you'll have any problem, though I do recommend sending it overnight and paying to have them overnight it back.

Nope, it's a new passport, so I have to go in person to start the process, so at least I'll save $15 on the overnight to send it in. But I will be spending the $15 to have them overnight it to me.

Mostly I was asking because my stepmom forwarded me some information to a passport application company here in LA, that offers to handle everything for you, at an extra fee. After talking with them on the phone, and getting nothing but dodgy, sales-person answers to my questions about why I should use them instead of dealing with the State department directly (and save some money in the process), I decided to just do it myself.

But now I'm worried that, even with paying for expedited processing, I'll run into hassles that they would easily be able to deal with.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm not sure I have food snobberies. Music/movie/book snobberies, sure, but I'm no gourmand.

Sometimes I have general knowledge snobbery.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I hope it's a "kiss my ass and hope to never see you again" kind of talk, Beth.

If the discussion doesn't feature the words "fuck" and "you", maybe even a mention of horse riding, I will be disappointed.

*sigh* However, I know that it not sweet, gentle Matt's nature, but just this once . . . .

I can't imagine why you would need this. Once you gather the documents, (which you'd have to do with them anyway), it takes 10 minutes to fill out the form.

Now tagless for your comfort.

This is true.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If it did all, it would suss out which region you were talking about and know the difference.

I shouldn't talk crap about it where it can hear me, but DUDE, OPERA, what's the point of me switching languages if it doesn't change what language you spell check in?

It's okay, though. I still love you more than Firefox. Who also doesn't like whisky.

One day, I'll RL run into a person who uses Opera, and then we'll get married or something.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Don't worry, Sean. The offices have a good idea of how long it will take. Believe them .

Matt will be polite. But not so sure how it will be received.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

The only time I did the expedited process was several years ago and pre-homeland security. I walked my boss' paperwork, expired passport, and plane ticket into a main passport office (instead of a post office) and she had the thing in her hands a few days later.

Post-homeland security I've read several articles where people intentionally put off applications untill they HAD to do it expedited because the regular way's backlog was so bad.

brillig

The "let us file your passport for you!" companies strike me as the type of firms that prey on peoples' fear of strange things that aren't so difficult if you take a deep breath and do things step by step. Some folks see "government process", though, and panic.
