Happiest of wedding days, Erin! I'm so thrilled for you! ::huge hugs::
Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I always had an idea that I would change my name to FirstName MaidenName Husband'sname, be known professionally as Firstname LastName, but legally as all three. Then came the family name drama. And then my dad died. So, I'm probably going to keep my name as a tribute to him.
oh, and the important bit -
Congratulations on your wedding day!!!!!!
I love my name and really didn't even consider changing it. To Shir's point though, my grandmother and great aunt aren't really down with that and are often writing checks for Nora W. Which occasionally is a PITA, but not too much, since we have a joint checking account.
Happy wedding day, Erin !!
Happy, happy wedding day, Erin!
If I remarried, I'd keep my maiden name. It was a PITA to change back to it after I got divorced. The Navy lost the paperwork twice and it took eight damn months to get it straight. I had a new SS card in just weeks, but I had to wait for the fripping Navy to get it right before I could go buy all new dungaree uniform shirts and pants to put my name on.
Being queer it's even more of a thing...both keep names? Find a new name together? She takes mine? I take hers? (Of course, FIND a girl first...). I like the idea of having the same name since it's more of a "we can has family!" signifier, but...
Yes, various relatives of ours still write checks to me with the husband's last name. People are just stubborn.
Happy marry day, Erin!
Happy day, Erin! Can't wait to see pictures.
You'll be happy to hear that the drunk (and horny) texting eventually ceased and he did not show up at my house (or if he did, he respected the lights being off and did not knock). Here's hoping there will be no further communication.
