Thanks for the well wishes guys. I'm trying to stay positive, if only because 1) that's not going to cure cancer 2) I cannot take myself when I'm upset.
ION: My mother just called to tell me she is DONE! After 20 some odd years she has just retired from being the Systems Integration Manager for the City of Shreveport. Yay Mom!
Now she's going to finish her Master Gardener's class and help people start community gardens and continue to volunteer for the Pink Ribbon Garden [link] And of course come visit us to help with house projects.
Those sound like great retirement plans, Daisy. Congrats to your mother.

Wow! How wonderfully lush and vibrant! I really like how she uses container plantings near the house to sort of blend the living space into the external garden.

You can't imagine how lovely sitting on that back porch in the swing with a glass of iced tea is in the spring/summer.
I am in love with that garden! And the non-matchy-but-totally-perfect-together porch furniture.
Which is why I want her to come over and do our house. That house was originally my step father's. Since they've been married she's torn out the front and back walls and put in French doors and windows, gutted and remodeled the kitchen and dining room and re done the two living rooms, office, weird x-tra rooms and 2 bedrooms. Next up are the bathrooms.
