Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
IOMememeNews: Resolution with Uncle has been reached. Right now, we owe him $300 for the rest of April rent and then we are out of here on May 1. We don't have anywhere to go yet, but that's neither here nor there. We are almost done with this place. I figure, if I can move us across the country in 6 weeks, I can surely do the same for a move across town right? Even if I wasn't in school, working full time, leading Girl Scouts, and coaching little league, right?
Fuck.
Oh well. I have things on CL, I just cleaned out 3 huge garbage bags of stuff from my closet, and I'm starting on the dressers. Every night for the rest of the week, Joe and Em will be cleaning out her toys for sale, and I have a full week off the first week of April for a major packing crunch.
It will all be fine. It will all be ok. This is an awesome opportunity to have.
And I will not smoke. We are 16 days today. I might comfort eat, though.
so glad to hear that daniel!
Aims, if anyone can do it, you can. Without smoking, even.
Daniel, it's so great to heat that!
Where is the energy comming from. Not from food or water
Love. Love, love, love, love, love, love, and love. At least, I think it's the case with my dog.
Aims, just want to let you know: from the I-don't-even-know-how-many-thousands-of-miles-there-are-between-us-or-how-much-I-know-these-internet-people, but I'm proud of you. So much. You're magnificent.
And now, IOlessbetterN: after all of the stuff with my dog, getting out of the army and hell of disappointing first job, my sis found out yesterday that a friend of hers was killed in a car crash. I wish I could make any of that easier on her.
Shir, comfort~ma for your sister. I hope this is the last of the bad news. From here on out, good news for you and your family.
Daniel, that is WONDERFUL! Another heaping round of health~ma for Ray and your Mom! BEHOLD! THE POWER OF THE ~MA!!

After much soul searching, I've decided to take the gig. Apparently there is one more hurdle.
> Also, all new hires do go through a background check so your offer will be contingent upon that, but you can do that when you get here.
@@ So apparently, first you are notified you are a finalist, but an offer can't be made until references are checked. Then when that is done, an offer is made, but can not be finalized until a background check is done? Seems the order of operations is a bit out of whack.
Now, if anyone has good advice how to tell a friend and boss of 13 years you are abandoning him to move back to CA, it would be greatly appreciated.
Yay, omnis! Good luck dear!
That's pretty standard, Omnis? At least in jobs I've applied for. But it's also pretty much a technicality, providing you've not lied on anything--are you, in fact, who you say you are? Do you actually have the degrees you put on your resume? Have you previously been arrested and not disclosed it on any applications you filled out? Etc etc.
ma~~ to your sister, Shir.
omnis, not that I have any really good way to tell your boss, but honestly, if he really is a good boss , he want you to move forward. the library world is pretty small -- in he bay area - everyone knows everyone. Everyone behaves very professionally. Sometimes the way to move forward is to move out. You aren't abandoning your boss, you are moving out so that when you come back you 'll be even better. That is the attitude here.
