S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Kate! You moved to Nashville! That is crazy because next time I have to go home I'M GOING TO SEE YOU.

Anything for a weird life.

I'm tempted to start a sockpuppet lurker account and lead an uprising against the regular posters.

GET OUT OF OUR SPECIAL SHINY NEW THREAD.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am all for less natter in here, because it does effectively defeat the point, but let me reiterate the description:

lurkers and regular posters alike

Always Anti-fascist!

Sure, do the one movie in the world I can't quote from. "The tse tse flies sweep young children up in their beaks..." "Tse tse flies have beaks?" Thomas, the fall will probably kill you.

Hi, I'm Fern. Not only am I a semi-professional lurker, but I'm also a class-A procrastinator. Was going to delurk when the thread first was established, put it off, then had to catch up, but didn't so I skipped.

I found the Buffistas at Table Talk, sometime in early '00. Salon's TV critic had an article on BtVS, and there was a link to the TT BtVS thread (have no idea what number it was.). I've posted very periodic random drive-by posts over the years. My TV viewing has been cut recently. I used to lurk in Supernatural and Lost. Gave up on Lost for a while, but have gotten back into it, and I was unable to watch Supernatural last season due to no DVR and having classes on Thursday nights. I do random lurking in other TV threads, but I don't watch all the shows, and I am reluctant to get spoiled for shows I may pick up at some point.

I want to say how appreciative I am that this site exists. I used to lurk in Natter & Bitches, but, for the most part, it's hard to keep up. I love all the various discussions on the BtVS & AtS threads. I learned a lot from my lurking. I am a better viewer/consumer of television. I look at it far more critically. For example, what is the metaphor, if any? How is the writing? Acting? Do I like this show because of what it says or because of the pretty? And I'm ok with superficialities, as long as I aknowledge them as such. I remember some of the discussions/debates over the nature of the soul on the B & A threads, and, as an atheist, I really appreciated all the various viewpoints, and that there could be a heated discussion without personal attacks. Because of this board, I respect the sincerity of other people's point of view, even if I don't agree with it.

Coffee & toast.

Forgot the personal stuff. I'm a native San Franciscan & moved to the East Bay six years ago, now live in El Cerrito. I love my adoptive home town, which has art galleries, music stores, musical instrument stores, a sex shop, a gun store, and "Playland Not At The Beach," a museum for an amusement park I went to as a kid. I used to work for a messenger company as an order-taker, and have been looking for work for over a year. I turned 50 last month, and am single. No children, parents both gone, and I have a brother. Politically, very far to the Left.

Favorate movies include Miller's Crossing, Casablanca (because I am the World's Biggest Sap), Maltese Falcon, Holy Grail, Life of Brian, and Local Hero.

Music: Love John Cale, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Johnny Cash, '70s punk, Velvet Underground, etc.

Favorite novel is "The Name of the Rose." Non-fiction would be the Communist Manifesto or anything by James Connolly.

(I'm nothing if not complex.) (edited for wishfull thinking)

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Hello, Fern! Welcome.
