We can come by between classes. Usually I use that time to copy over my class notes with a system of different colored pens. But it's been pointed out to me that that's, you know...insane.

Thanks Maria, that's very helpful! I shall get to the consulate ASAP. I need to renew my US passport anyway.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

No problem, Fiona! I have dual U.S.-Italian citizenship, and I was just asked a similar question by a family friend so my recall (and links list) was very fresh.

Good luck!

And Jars, I forgot to tell you congrats on impending motherhood!

Lurkers, it is so nice to hear from you. Congratulations, sympathy, and ~ma as necessary to each of you. Please don't be strangers.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Fiona! Jars! So nice to see you.

Maria, thank you for the info - we're dealing with dual citizenship questions right now. Gotta get Peanut's paperwork in order.

Jars, it shouldn't be a problem for your DH to obtain UK citizenship and keep his U.S.

Phew! Thanks!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't know if I'm more relieved or dismayed that I only have the one option for citizenship!

Punishingly Intricate

Bob got Canadian citizenship as an adult (& kept his US one).

hip deep in pie

My nephew's grandfather (on his mom's side) was born in Ireland, and I keep telling him to go for citizenship. It opens up the whole EU to him.

Why was my dad not born on St. Pierre?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I need to marry a Scotsman.

I keep saying this!

I checked a few years ago and having a Canadian grandfather didn't make me eligible for citizenship. I wonder if that's changed.

I think you need one parent to have been a Canadian citizen.
