My nephew's grandfather (on his mom's side) was born in Ireland, and I keep telling him to go for citizenship. It opens up the whole EU to him.

Why was my dad not born on St. Pierre?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I need to marry a Scotsman.

I keep saying this!

I checked a few years ago and having a Canadian grandfather didn't make me eligible for citizenship. I wonder if that's changed.

I think you need one parent to have been a Canadian citizen.

Yeah, that's what it was. Oh well. AFAIK my father wasn't, he was born in Michigan.

Oh, unless your grandfather was working for the Crown (gov't) when your dad was born.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My grandfather was an unemployed beekeeper who was probably so drunk he didn't realize he'd become American.
