Angel: You know, I killed my actual dad. It was one of the first things I did when I became a vampire. Wesley: I hardly see how that's the same situation. Angel: Yeah. I didn't really think that one through.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Re low-maintenance, there's a recent study checking out your pets' carbon pawprint. Apparently even a medium-sized dog is more damaging than an SUV. Cats are far more environmentally friendly. (Except in Australia, where they chew up all the native wildlife.)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

(Except in Australia, where they chew up all the native wildlife.)

Huh. I would think that would be less true in Australian, what with all the freakish wildlife you have there.

  • trying hard to remain de-lurked, but you are witty and fast talking bunch--one of you has usually said what I'm thinking by the time I can chime in.*

I love dogs, but I love that you have to earn it with some cats.

Baseball--I like going to the actual games, but I don't get anywhere near as involved with it as I do hockey.

Congratulations to Nicole! This Halloween will be my 15th wedding anniversary, so I happen to think it is the coolest day ever to get married. We met at a Halloween party, so it only seemed right to have a Halloween wedding--we even got our grandparents in costume, which I did not think would happen.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That is really cool, and means we have three Halloween wedding anniversaries, or will next year.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I have cats, because I can never live up to a dog's expectations. I can never be as good as they think I am. It's a constant feeling of fail. Cats don't expect so much. We're only human, after all.

Our wings are not tired.

one of you has usually said what I'm thinking by the time I can chime in.

Hey, lwadams! Yes, we all have that experience. You can still agree and tell the previous posters they were brilliant for agreeing with you.

Our wings are not tired.

One dog, one cat, four fish. They are all incredibly needy, but the fish are quieter about it and don't paw at me or lick me to get attention.

Coding and Sleeping

Two dogs. An Akita-Collie mix, gentle and laid back and a Beagle-??? mix, hyper and needy but cute.

I believe vampires are the world's greatest golfers

I'm not delurking so much as coming out from very deep hibernation. It's been almost ten years since I discovered the Buffistas on TableTalk; I can date it by my son, who was a baby at the time -- fortunately he liked to sleep and/or nurse while I watched Angel. I live in the frozen centre of Canada, work as a public librarian, and approve of cilantro, olives, cats AND dogs, and (obviously) the serial comma.

Hello to all the delurkers, but especially Abby -- I remember you! -- and Shambles, as the only other non-Haligonista Canadians I've seen posting here.

I've met exactly 3 Buffistas in person, one of whom is Ouise's sister.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

The thing is, no matter who you are, you live up to a dog's expectations. "You know where the dog food is! Brilliant!" "You went out to the yard and then came back in the door! Amazing!" "You stood up! Fantastic!"

I get lotsa sugar from both our cats and our dogs. I love the dogs milling about aimlessly but happily when I come home in the same way that I love the cats stretching themselves out and blinking at me to say hello.
