That is really cool, and means we have three Halloween wedding anniversaries, or will next year.
Delurking 1: Because we don't always check our e-mail.
I have cats, because I can never live up to a dog's expectations. I can never be as good as they think I am. It's a constant feeling of fail. Cats don't expect so much. We're only human, after all.
one of you has usually said what I'm thinking by the time I can chime in.
Hey, lwadams! Yes, we all have that experience. You can still agree and tell the previous posters they were brilliant for agreeing with you.
One dog, one cat, four fish. They are all incredibly needy, but the fish are quieter about it and don't paw at me or lick me to get attention.
Two dogs. An Akita-Collie mix, gentle and laid back and a Beagle-??? mix, hyper and needy but cute.
I'm not delurking so much as coming out from very deep hibernation. It's been almost ten years since I discovered the Buffistas on TableTalk; I can date it by my son, who was a baby at the time -- fortunately he liked to sleep and/or nurse while I watched Angel. I live in the frozen centre of Canada, work as a public librarian, and approve of cilantro, olives, cats AND dogs, and (obviously) the serial comma.
Hello to all the delurkers, but especially Abby -- I remember you! -- and Shambles, as the only other non-Haligonista Canadians I've seen posting here.
I've met exactly 3 Buffistas in person, one of whom is Ouise's sister.
The thing is, no matter who you are, you live up to a dog's expectations. "You know where the dog food is! Brilliant!" "You went out to the yard and then came back in the door! Amazing!" "You stood up! Fantastic!"
I get lotsa sugar from both our cats and our dogs. I love the dogs milling about aimlessly but happily when I come home in the same way that I love the cats stretching themselves out and blinking at me to say hello.
Dani! From the frozen centre! So nice to have representation from the middle!
I was just thinking the other day, as I work a lot with people east of me up to Manitoba, that it would be very weird for me to live in say, Ontario, because people would be west of me. If I ever went right to the east coast, I would be so confused by the ocean being on the wrong side.
Anyway, hi!
I am Bev WRT to cats v. dogs. Walkies seem constricting and stressful to me. And both my cats (most of the cats I've had, really) are openly affectionate and not aloof at all. In fact, one is quite possessive. Of everybody. She alone should get scritches, or so she believes.
And hi Dani! I think I've seen your pixels before, but it's been a while.
Dani! Good to hear from you!
Did you know that Nora(aka RahRah) is having a baby? She's due on December 15th, which is way too long to wait not long now.
