Hi lurkers & regulars. I'm Larry.

I first delurked on TT in fall 2000 (Buffy S5, Angel S2). I had just had cataract surgery on my right eye, which changed it from very nearsighted to slightly farsighted. My brain hadn't yet figured out how to deal with the discrepancy between the 2 eyes, hence the pseud.

I've posted sporadically over the years. Met a bunch of folks when we went to the DC F2F, and more when the F2F came to my home town in 2007.

I drifted away from the board sometime after that, and took to mostly lurking on political & music sites. Ginger keeps me updated on the goings-on.

The inventory:

Serial commas: Inconsistent. No for lists consisting of one or two words. Yes for lists of long phrases.

Post-period double spacing: No. Wife does it; I don't like.

Ellipses, parentheses, and em-dashes: I try not to overuse.

Cilantro: Yes! So glad I'm not among those for whom it tastes soapy.

Olives: In moderation.

Muffulettas: No. Not so much because of the olives, but the cold cuts. I'm generally anti-sliced-cylindrical-red-fatty-meat. I'll have a turkey one with P-C.

Orange cats: 1. Had 2 a couple of years ago (Miss you, Lucky)

Non-orange cats: 1

Dogs named after Buffy/Angel characters: 1

Dogs named after obscure Star Trek characters: 1

Mathematician by education. I write code for geographic software to bring home the meat that is not cylindrical & red.

eta: lets see if this looks better

Our wings are not tired.

bicyclops! Good to see you. I think I have seen you in person more than I have in posts. More of each would be nice.

brillig

I saw the guy who played the Narrator doing Mycroft Holmes in PBS' Sherlock Holmes series. My brain kept hurting trying to resolve the voice.

“Not dead yet!”

My kids have been watching Phineas and Ferb (animated series) lately and I turned to Lewis at one point and said, "Who's voicing Dad?" When he didn't know, I pulled it up on IMDB and discovered it was Richard O'Brien.

Talk about a mindwhoopee.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Isn't he dead?

(Wait, no, I was thinking of Richard Harris.)

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

It's sure great to see everyone, poking their heads in, and giving updates on their lives.
