"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, my grandmother gave a big lecture once just upon hearing someone joke about the president. She didn't care one whit for the current man in office, but she demanded respect for the office itself.

Glad you killed the spider, Kat. I am all, live and let live, but if it can kill you, you're allowed to kill it.

So yesterday was my birthday, and it was meh. The SO was gone all day and I had work and rehearsal. Usually I love rehearsal, but this one was severely hinky. Due in no small part to the leader wanting to get done and go out. I was all, hey, I'm skipping my birthday celebration for this.

But anyway, this is not a post to gripe, because tonight the SO made my actual birthday dinner which was muy delicioso. Starter was a choice of salmon & cream cheese stuffed green chile or baby bello, his creation. Main course was kung pao chicken. Everything was organic and included our garlic from this year's garden. Amazing. It was so good. So, birthday celebration redeemed!

Our wings are not tired.

Mmmmm, sounds like a tasty birthday. Belated happy wishes for you, Liese.

Happy properly celebrated birthday, Liese! I'm glad to know you another year!

And now, I am craving your dinner.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm giving Glee a try, but I'm not nearly as impressed as I might have expected. Why are the "minority" kids relegated to the backup singing and C level plotlines?

“Not dead yet!”

Oh! Belated happies, Liese! and that dinner sounds divine. Personally, I'll all for making the celebration belated if it starts off a weekend.

hip deep in pie

Happy Belated Birthday, Liese.

I am the pokiest worker in the world. The 45 minute break to watch PR probably didn't help. But I was folding laundry for most of that time.

No one room in my house is completely clean, though the guest room and the basement are close. I talked to my mother, and she said that I shouldn't bother to make up the bed in the spare room, because if she comes up, she's bringing her own sheets. She will probably bring her own food too.

Oh, that dinner sounds delicious, Liese. Kudos to your DH, and happy belated to you. Hungry now.

Edited for: "i before e, except after c"

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Happy Birthday days, Liese.

Your mom is...well, bringing her own sheets??

I now have moved on from Liese-food envy to wanting croissant stuffed with springroll stuff. Which I can't get. The only place I know of is 24 hours of planes away. And I've googled! Ahhrg. Kathmandu won't let me go.

Kathmandu won't let me go

Well, and why would it want to?
