yes, I am looking for the magic words , too. But they may never change cause I won't get phone with them . ( not their fault, but cell phone is so iffy around here that I need a more reliable land line)
Natter 64: Yes, we still need you

I love the sound of rain on my skylight. Even if I have to go check my leaky door.
P-C, how long have you been a customer of Comcast?
Two years in Ann Arbor, three years here.
My chat experience with them was dismal
The first time I tried a few months ago, the guy just told me I wasn't under a contract so I could do what I wanted. The end.
but I shall try it to get the discount you got. What did you say to them??
I said that I was considering switching to AT&T or Astound since they have lower prices and asked if they had any special offers for loyal existing customers. "Richard" got right on it. It took him a while, but he found a promotion that gives me $20 Internet and $25 cable for 6 months (not including DVR). That's even better than the $69.99 cable/Internet package that's on Comcast.com that I think is actually available to any existing customers, so point that one out if my sweet deal is related to how long I've been with them.
I can't believe I just saved myself $435 by being mildly assertive.
Thanks. My first 6 months promo ended recently and I downgraded to basic digital cable and internet and my bill is $130+! I have two cable boxes, as well.
Yeah, my bill was $150+. It's ridiculous. If a Customer Service person can't find you a better deal, I think you can get the $69.99 deal straight off of Comcast.com. There is nothing in the Terms and Services that restricts it to new customers. You just have to ask for it. They won't just lower all our bills as a courtesy even though we're all eligible.
Is the $69.99 with internet?
Okay, am on chat right now. Her first offer is lowering my bill to $99 for 6 months. I am pushing for more (I want HBO back--I miss "Entourage").
Yep.
Also, I just realized that my landlord is probably not raising my rent, since he could only raise it 0.7% and he hasn't given me 30 days notice. So that's cool! I wonder if I can get a loyalty discount.

Is that $99 with HBO? Because that would be like the $69.99 plus...$30 for HBO? That's not right. Yeah, push! (If it's not with HBO, that's bullshit, since the other deal is right there.)
Shit. I'd put towels up around the door seals. They're dry. Have drip. Gotta be under the thresh-hold. Must hunt up paperwork and contact roofer who put the roof on.
Is that $99 with HBO?
Nope. Now she is wanting to transfer me to sales; did that happen to you?
[ETA: I love that my "analyst" is named Zildjian]
