I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

I hope she/he will sue them when he/she will grow up.

If he or she hasn't slowly evaporated before then.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Oh, Spare Cat could and would do that jar-opening much better, because she would unhesitatingly push it off the counter so that it broke open on the floor. None of this namby-pamby delicate lid opening for her!

Heh. The crashing sound would attract attention, though. Except for the person filming (I assume it's a person, unless an even smarter cat found the camcorder) those cats could clean out the jar before anyone knew they were there.

Smart kitties. I'm glad my cat hasn't found a way to self-feed. Yet.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Since I posted a link to pictures of a naked guy, I have to post this as well: Angelina Jolie Vs. Diane Kruger At 'Inglourious Basterds' Premiere (PHOTOS)

It was a black dress battle between Angelina Jolie and Diane Kruger at the LA premiere of Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" Monday night.

Kruger stars opposite Jolie's man Brad Pitt in the WWII flick.

Jolie came hair down in a black strapless leather dress, bondage heels and had Pitt on her arm. Kruger came hair up in a beaded mini dress with an open back so low photographers caught a smidge of crack.

What makes those "bondage heels"?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

What makes those "bondage heels"?

The straps?

It just occurred to me that I'm not sure if I paid my rent this month, since I was out of town at the end of last month. Crap. I hope I remember this when I get home!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My cafeteria is continuing to go international--today was "Try Everything Middle Eastern Day!" With chicken tabak (I could be wrong on the name), beef marquez (I was hoping for marquez sausage, but no such luck), falafel, beans and rice, various bulgar wheat side dishes, and a whole array of condiments, from hummus and tabbouleh to tahini sauce, a mid-east salsa, and a few other sauces. Oh, and stuffed grape leaves. Looking forward to trying this plate of samplers out.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

What makes those "bondage heels"?

I'd have called them gladiator-style, but I imagine putting the words "bondage" and "Angelina Jolie" that close together is good SEO.

Giant 'meat-eating' plant found

A new species of giant carnivorous plant has been discovered in the highlands of the central Philippines.

The pitcher plant is among the largest of all pitchers and is so big that it can catch rats as well as insects in its leafy trap.

...

Pitcher plants are carnivorous. Carnivorous plants come in many forms, and are known to have independently evolved at least six separate times. While some have sticky surfaces that act like flypaper, others like the Venus fly trap are snap traps, closing their leaves around their prey.

Pitchers create tube-like leaf structures into which insects and other small animals tumble and become trapped.
