Risk is a tricky one. It was eventually banned from our house because it can definitely get negative and personal, fast. Other games I don't think would be such an issue.

Yeah, the morning Risk game ended in tears, or so it was reported to me. And everyone was in tears except Pablo and Maura (my friend and his stepmom). That everyone included Milan who was in high school and Ellis who was a full blown adult by then.
huh, not probably shocking to anyone, I won't tolerate cheating at any age. If they want to play a game, we sit and play it and play by the rules.
If mac tries to cheat all in my family will just stop playing. Same for if he won't sit and play but gets up and runs around playing with other things.

I did too, though mine was a two for the price of one tickets to a comedy club. Gonna take K-Bug when she is out for a visit.
We have had to stop playing Chutes and Ladders, with a 6 year old, because of tears. Explaining that it is chance does not help.
I'm definitely more committed to fun than rules -- I cheat at Solitaire! Because it's more fun to finish out the game.
I AM SHOCKED!
