I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My host is ritual fanatic Saints fan. She doesn't wear Saints paraphernalia anymore, because the Bush stuff didn't work out so well last season.

In that case, I completely understand her not wanting to watch this game.

I finished re-assembling the garage sink's P-trap, etc. I am unsure what is so marvelous about a Marvel Connector, but it does not leak and it drains quickly, so, win.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Happy birthday, shrift!

ita, eat gumbo for me. I have been craving gumbo like a crazy person, and am not sure if there's anyplace in Seattle to get really good gumbo. (Yes, I know, I could try my hand at making some, but the idea of making a roux terrifies me.)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Making a roux is not hard. Just stir it a lot, and don't let it burn.

This is what everyone tells me. I still have an irrational fear of screwing it up. I may try it next week, after my contract finishes.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I've never done a roux that wasn't just for thickening gravy (blonde) but Alton Brown suggests cooking the roux in the oven, I guess to avoid the concentration of heat in one direction. I dunno.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have about one more meal. Maybe I can make it gumbo. Everything's running a bit late. I'm pretty sure I won't get to say goodbye to people.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

We went and saw Princess & Frog after church. It is very cold out.

Now football.

In a miracle, mac has done all his homework due over the break. No last day of vacation fights.

Roux is not hard. Even I can do it. And it's great for mac and cheese.

Speaking of cheese: I'm having a grilled cheese sandwich with brie, grilled chicken and bacon. It is heavenly.

The 3:00 playdate we had (and really really really cleaned for) just called to cancel.
